With images closely resembling the T3 Turkey Red cabinet cards, the S81 "Silks" feature pictures of ballplayers reproduced on fabric measuring approximately 6 3/4" x 8 3/4" and made available as a premium with Helmar "Turkish Trophies" cigarettes.  One of five players featured in the S81 issue that were not part of the Turkey Red set (the others were Grover Cleveland Alexander, Rube Benton, Rube Marquand and Marty O'Toole), Russ ford is pictured here in striking detail and brilliant color, set against a stark background.  The six does exhibit some very minor soiling, a long with a couple of folds and some minor fabric fraying at the top edge.  A wonderful example.
