Remarkably clean and crisp image of Brooklyn outfielder Ed Swartwood, posed as if fielding a ground ball (in front of the bleachers).  The Brooklyn Old Judges are the only examples from the issue that are posed outside on an actual ballfields, and as a result they are quite desirable.  This is one of the finest images we have encountered, graded FR 1.5 by SGC due primarily to an edge tear at the top left, and scrapbook remnants on the reverse.  Neither condition flaw is particularly relevant when judging the eye appeal of the card, which is among the finest we have seen on an N172.
