The Otto J. Frank studio of New York was a studio that photographed the 1888 Brooklyn American Association club, a team with which catcher/outfielder Bill Holbert spent a total of 15 games and was rewarded with five Old Judge cards bearing that team affiliation. Holbert holds the record for most career at bats without a home run (2,335), a possible reason why just one of his 7 different N172 cards picture him with a bat. Here, poses as if about to catch a ball, padded gloves on each hand. The detail in the photo is magnificent, despite some light image fading. The piece is, overall, in VG/EX condition, though some writing on the reverse ("Clark") in pencil would reduce its technical grade.
