Scholten Studio N172 Old Judge Cigarettes proof, featuring Canadian baseball Hall of Famer James "Tip" O'Neil. During his ten-year career, O'Neil batted .326, his greatest season being 1887, when he won the Triple Crown, batting .435 with 14 home runs and 123 runs batted in, only the second person in history to win the Triple Crown. Photographed the year after O'Neill's triple crown year, the cabinet, which corresponds with N172 card number 356-6, exhibits considerable soiling and image fade, the advertisement on the reverse similarly marred, but legible. An exceptional photo of a star player, and a member of the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame.
