The Catcher was a Spy was one of the books written about Moe Berg and it's a story that still captures the imagination. The "strangest man to ever play baseball" per Casey Stengel (an authority on that particular subject if there ever was one) has signed this government-issued postcard in black steel-tipped fountain pen. A beautiful, flowing signature applied towards the upper-left corner of the card. Postmarked by the US Postal Service on January 15, 1937 this card would have been self-addressed and placed in an envelope by the sender for Berg to then sign and return, which he did. By 1937 Berg was with the Red Sox at the tail end of his career and his playing days would be over following the 1939 season. A unique collectible from one of baseball's most compelling personalities. Full LOA from James Spence Authentication.
