Attractive high grade card of Syracuse running back Ernie Davis. Davis was the first African-American player to win the Heisman Trophy winning it along with the Walter Camp Memorial Trophy in 1961. As the number one pick in the 1962 draft Davis was selected by the Redskins and traded to the Cleveland Browns where he signed the richest rookie contract in NFL history. Sadly Davis would never play an NFL game being diagnosed with leukemia and passing away in the spring of 1963 just 23 years old.
