The Colgan's Chips Red Border Series (E270-1 in the American Card Catalog) followed on the heels of the company's more expansive E254 Stars the Diamond set and is the toughest of their three issues to track down. There are but three of these in their pop report, this being a PSA 1. Coveleski was between major league teams when this card was issued and in fact spent all of 1911, 1912 and 1913 with Chattanooga as he pitched his way back to the bigs. Product staining and chipping are seen on the obverse, with the red rim intact but sliding to the upper left. The reverse has suffered a bit with some paper loss and product stains and is off-center.
