Complete set of 1977 Burger Chef "Triple Play Funmeal" trays. This oddball offering was combined with a burger, fries, soft-drink and a treat - similar to a McDonald's Happy Meal, though the Funmeal is recognized to have preceded McDonald's by several years. Each tray featured nine trading cards (discs) measuring approx. 2.5" in diameter and displaying portraits of major league ballplayers with images free of team logos due to licensing restrictions. Reverse of each disc included an illustrated Burger Chef character. The complete set is comprised of 24 different approx. 8.5" x 11.75" trays for a substantial total of 216 unique cards. Each tray in this collection remains fully intact with all of the discs in place. Trays have survived in superb condition across the group with just a hint of light corner and edge wear consistent with long-term storage.
