Highly sought after 1910 original photo of Boston knuckleballer, Eddie Cicotte from Paul Thompson's news photo service. Research has revealed Paul Thompson photographers snapped a portrait of virtually every player in both the American and National Leagues immediately prior to, or during, the 1910 season. Many of these portraits were then utilized exclusively to create the American Tobacco Company's 1911 T205 series of cards and even more were featured throughout the 1911 Spalding Guide. A full 5" x 7", the presented example is a match for Cicotte's T205 card and shows typical light wear to the extreme corners with an affixed 1996 Baseball Magazine hologram on verso. Verso also includes large credit stamping from Paul Thompson's service above a handwritten identifier of Cicotte. Authenticated and encapsulated as a.Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
