This is an eclectic grouping of five aged sports books published between 1905 and 1914. Four of the books cover baseball, while the fifth is devoted to football. Two books – Spalding’s How to Pitch and Spalding’s Official Football Guide for 1908 – were issued by the American Sports Publishing Company in New York. The three remaining books are Sporting Life’s 1909 Official Schedule of the American League Base Ball Clubs, The Sporting News Record Book for 1910, and Just Baseball, which was published in 1914. All of the books show ample wear although the pages remain intact after more than a century in existence.
