Remar issued the first of five annual sets featuring the hometown Oakland Oaks starting in 1946. Casey Stengel managed the PCL squad to a spot in the Championship series but they lost to the cross-bay Seals in 6 games. The Oaks did win the league crown in 1948 after being bridesmaids again in '47 and then The Ol' Perfesser was off to the Yankees and Hall-of-Fame glory thereafter. The PSA 4 example seen here features a nice shot of Stengel, sitting on the dugout rail. There is some wear to the image, fairly light in nature, with some edge chipping in a couple of spots. The reverse has a couple of tiny foxed spots, with the red accent on the bread looking sharp.
