Babe Ruth had a sweetheart deal with Quaker Oats as he neared the end of his playing days and the company issued a wide range of premiums and products using his image. His agent, Christy Walsh, was quick to realize the endorsement power of the Mighty Babe and seeing these items is still a treat. This is a 1934 pin given out as part of the promotion kicking off Ruth's Quaker Oats sponsored radio show and all you needed to do was send a single cereal box top with your address to receive one of the beauties. This PSA 5 "membership badge" as it were, was apparently treasured, with just some foxing seen around the rim. The image of Ruth is clean and strong. A neat artifact from a long ago time!
