I have one to sell!
The 1962 Topps baseball set is one of the more difficult 1960s issues to collect primarily because the faux-woodgrain borders of the cards are easily chipped and damaged with wear. The result is a preponderance of lower-grade cards which are undeniably less attractive. Clean sharp 1962 Topps cards however are extremely attractive with eye appeal that rivals any of the other Topps issues from the period the woodgrain borders offsetting the color images of the cards and creating one of the hobby's more interesting designs. The set is filled with specialty cards including All-Stars World Series cards statistical leaders Babe Ruth highlights and more. The condition challenge coupled with the many difficult subsets make this a popular set among collectors. The set's high numbers make this a difficult one to complete. Presented is a spectacular complete set much of which retains the appearance of an EX-MT to NMT set. Many of the cards however exhibit a minor flaw that we have never seen: at one time a large percentage of this set must have been stored in an album that utilized "photo corners" to hold the cards in place. These photo corners had two effects: first they maintained the cards in largely pristine nearly new condition with wonderful gloss and sharp corners and edges. Second however over time they left a mild imprint on many of the cards at each corner - pronounced enough to be seen under bright light and in some cases even pronounced enough to be seen at a distance. The overwhelming majority of these cards are absolutely beautiful appearing NM until closer inspection. Please note that this issue is not apparent on all the cards in the set but it is certainly an issue worth noting. What is less clear however is how to treat these imprints when grading the cards. We were honestly unsure of how to deal with them so we selected eight such cards at random and sent them to PSA for grading. They came back as follows: #84 Lenny Green - PSA NM 7; #91 JC Martin - PSA EX-MT 6; #254 Gordon Windhorn - PSA EX-MT 6; #287 George Witt - PSA EX 5; #268 Bob Tillman - PSA EX 5; #372 Jack Curtis - PSA EX 5; #557 Bob Anderson - PSA EX-MT 6; #568 Jim Golden - PSA NM 7. It is clear to us that PSA treated these flaws as they would treat any other flaw in a card reducing the numerical grade based on the severity of the imprint - sometimes reducing by as much as one or more full number grades sometimes not reducing at all. As such we evaluated the cards the same way and developed the following condition breakdown: 5% NM and better;
