I have one to sell!
The 1955 Bowman issue attempted to capitalize on the country's growing fascination with television by depicting color photos of each subject inside a border made to resemble a television. The set which would be Bowman's last would not prove to be a popular one at the time though the set has grown in popularity since due in part to the large selection of the era's stars combined with a selection of the game's umpires. The umpires are all part of a difficult high number run adding to their value. Presented is a complete set of 1955 Bowmans the majority of which are in collector to middle grade. A fine collection there are very few "beaters" in the group a very appealing collection that grades 5% EX-MT or better; 17% EX; 30% VG/EX; 42% VG; 6% G and a fraction lesser. Key cards in the set grade out as follows: #1 Hoyt Wilhelm (G); #10 Phil Rizzuto (VG); #22 Roy Campanella (VG); #23 Al Kaline (VG); #37 Pee Wee Reese (EX/MT); #49 Whitey Ford (VG/EX); #60 Enos Slaughter (VG); #103 Eddie Mathews (VG); #130 Richie Ashburn (VG); #134 Bob Feller (VG); #168 Yogi Berra (VG/EX); #171 Robin Roberts (EX); #179 Hank Aaron (VG/EX); #184 Willie Mays (VG); #191 Bob Lemon (EX); #197 Ralph Kiner (EX); #202 Mickey Mantle (PSA EX 5); and #213 George Kell (VG/EX). A strong group of collector to mid grade cards from the last year the iconic Bowman Gum company would issue baseball cards. 320 cards total.
