The 1914 E145 Cracker Jack set brought a jolt of red to the little prizes it had started inserting into boxes of their sticky confection two years earlier. More like thick paper than thin cardboard, the cards were highly susceptible to product staining and damage. Ewell Russel was better known as "Reb" thanks to his Jackson, Mississippi birthplace and he's captured in a fine throwing pose here. Heavy product stains are seen on both front and back, with a battered lower left corner and a crease visible.
