Alva Gipe was a career minor league hurler over six seasons and he broke in with the PCL's Vernon Tigers in 1911, just in time to be portrayed by Pacific Coast Biscuit. He endured two suspensions before he pitched his last season in 1917 but along the way he went a perfect 18-0 for the 1913 Seattle Giants of the Northwestern League. SGC 1 in grade, the card features a well-executed and intriguing pastel background. Creases and rounded corners are evident and the reverse is intact with some soiling.
