Outstanding panoramic photograph of the 1922 Boston Red Sox taken on Opening Day against the Philadelphia Athletics April 12 1922 at Fenway Park. Professionally matted and framed to a finished size of 30" x 11" the photo is credited to the F.A. George Photo Company of Boston. The incredibly clear and detailed image is highlighted by the presence of the team manager Hall of Famer Hugh Duffy. To Duffy's right is future Hall of Famer Herb Pennock. Posed in front of the grandstand the team look dapper in their home whites the anticipation of the coming season visible on the faces of the players. Baseball is such that on Opening Day any team can win but at the end of the season the team had finished 8th in the American League with a 60-94 record. The photo displays wonderfully though we imagine there is likely some edge wear behind the mat. Despite being unable to inspect the edges or reverse of the photo it is a gorgeous piece.
