Interesting post-career postcard featuring the New Haven Weissmen of the Eastern League, featuring player/manager and future Hall of Famer Chief Bender.  A seldom-seen piece of memorabilia, the card features extensive advertising for a New Haven sporting goods store.  The card, addressed to the Parksides Athletic Club (in March of 1921, according to the light pencil notations along the top edge), is in poor condition with significant staining and surface abrasions.  Still, a seldom-seen post-career card featuring the Hall of Fame pitcher.
