This lot boasts a pair of framed team photos of the 1941 and ‘42 Seattle Rainiers baseball team of the Pacific Coast League (PCL). The ‘41 squad, led by manager Bill Skiff, finished in first place in the PCL standings with a record of 104-70. Then they beat the Sacramento Solons and the Los Angeles Angels in the playoffs to take the title. The ‘42 club, again under Skiff’s tutelage, recorded a 96-82 mark to finish in third place in the PCL standings but then proceeded to win their third straight league title by defeating both the Hollywood Stars and the Sacramento Solons in the postseason. For his entire minor league managing career, Skiff compiled a career record of 998 wins and 852 losses which included stints with the Durham Bulls, Norfolk Tars, Binghamton Triplets, Newark Bears, Kansas City Blues as well as the Rainiers. The 1941 framed pic measures 15" wide by 12.5" high, while the ‘42 photo, in frame, measures 20.5" wide by 11.5" high. Both frames come with wire mounted to their backs for easy hanging.  From the Bill Skiff collection.
