Lot Description  

Approx. 3.5" x 5" news service photograph of Boston Red Sox star hurler, Smoky Joe Wood. This photo is a companion to a collection of 1915 Red Sox photographs we previously sold through our Spring 2022 Premier Auction. Central image appears to be slightly underdeveloped but remains a wonderful representation of Wood during one of the most historic season in franchise history. A close inspection inspection of verso reveals a reverse ghosted image of Smoky Joe Wood's 1910 Paul Thompson portrait and an interesting stamp crediting both Harris & Ewing and Paul Thompson jointly. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
