A mere 16 illustrated subjects make up the first series of 1910 Contentnea cards but what's lacking in quantity was sure made up in quality. Drawn from the rather shallow talent pools of the Carolina Association and Eastern Carolina League, Class D ballplayers never looked so good on cardboard. The SGC 5 grade here reflects the stunning color these cards are known for, rivaled only by a handful of other sets from the era. Beautiful blues predominate, with the finely drawn green grass a pleasant counterpoint. The upper right corner is wearing a tad while the other three look really nice. The back has one small spot of residue that may or may not be ancient glue, with a factory stamp overlaid. Just a wonderful card!
