W600 Sporting Life Cabinets depicting Hall of Fame players have been a challenging quarry for collectors of several generations. Offered as a premium by a turn of the century sports magazine and featuring sepia photos of over 650 subjects, these were made available during the first decade of the 20th Century. The well-composed Carl Horner portraits and tasteful frame are an alluring combination, and if that wasn't enough, this is the only example of Evers in both the SGC and PSA pop reports and it's received a 3.5 grade from the latter. Some minor corner rounding to to the thick frame is seen, while the well-preserved portrait of Evers sits protected, snug and secure in the middle. The reverse is wonderfully clean on a card that frankly looks like it should exceed its assigned grade.
