Kid Nichols was one of the premier pitchers of the late 1800's and did a pretty bang up job in the early years of the 20th Century as well. The Kid racked up 362 career wins, still good for 7th all-time and following his retirement, was a mentor to a young Casey Stengel. Inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1949, he remains one of the brightest stars in the constellation of 19th Century big league ball.
This SGC 3 has some nicks and scars on the obverse, which is to be expected for a card that's got almost 13 decades of history behind it. The image is fairly clean and bright. The reverse has held up nicely as well and is almost Spinal Tap-ish in nature (none more black).
