An extremely difficult signature, pitcher Joe Muir only played in parts of the 1951 and 1952 seasons with Pittsburgh, compiling a total of 52 major league innings pitched in 21 games.  Muir passed at a young age (57), but his lack of longevity in baseball was a likely contributor to the scarcity of signed 1952 Topps cards bearing his likeness.  This example has been applied at the upper left in blue ballpoint, deliberately but with a pen that appears to have been running out; there is some visible ink skipping to the signature.  Still, PSA has authenticated just four 1952 Topps cards signed by Muir, so set collectors have precious few options when it comes to obtaining a signed example from this legendary issue.  Authenticated and encapsulated by PSA/DNA.
