Compelling 6.5" x 8.5" photograph depicting a rookie-era Walter Johnson at American League Park, home of the Washington Senators. While paper caption on verso makes reference to 1907, 20 years prior to the creation of this print, the image itself is known to have been taken in 1909 and utilized for a series of real photo postcards that seemingly never found their way into production. Though the presented example is a second generation image, created by taking a picture of the original, it remains a nearly 100-year-old specimen created in 1927 as the dated paper caption indicates. Front and verso both remain quite clean with Underwood & Underwood news photo service stamping appearing in black ink.  Photo is fresh to the hobby and originates from the archives of Photo File, Inc. where it has been stored for several decades until this offering. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 4 photo by PSA/DNA.
