Attractive team photo depicting the 1912 Boston Red Sox posed in front of their dugout. This image served as the source material for their tough 1912 Underwood & Underwood-issued postcard offered elsewhere in this auction. Underwood also issued a similar postcard of the National League's champion, the New York Giants and both cards were offered during the World Series that season. Upper-right corner of the 4" x 5" photograph has chipped away and paper remnants remain affixed to verso, presumably from being removed from a mount or paper album. A wonderful depiction of this important Deadball Era team two years prior to the first appearance of Babe Ruth.
