During the 1909 season, the Boston Herald issued 12 supplements with their Sunday papers, each featuring two 7" x 10" photos, one picturing a Red Sox player and one picturing a Braves player. The photos were attached at the center, and are quite fragile, printed on newsprint. They are relatively scarce today, quite condition sensitive, and are often found separated into individual 7" x 10" photos rather than attached. Presented here are the supplements issued on August 22, one featuring pitcher Eddie Cicotte and the other of pitcher Thomas Tuckey. The photo of Cicotte presents quite well, with some age-related damage to the edges. The Tuckey photo did not fare quite as well over the years, with some tearing and noticeable paper loss at the right edge. Some staining is evident on the reverse. A tough collectible, a less frequently seen piece picturing the widely-collected Cicotte.
