A Hall of Fame infielder who played 18 National League seasons beginning with the Troy Haymakers in 1880, Connor was a power hitter in a league that didn't have many, the game's all-time home run leader before the record was broken by some guy named Ruth. He was with the Giants from 1883 until 1891, with this pose in the N172 issue designated as 88-4 and also known as the "script name" for obvious reasons. PSA has given the card a grade of Very Good 3, as there is some light moisture staining on the reverse and a tiny tobacco stain visible on the front. The image quality tends toward the darker end of the Old Judge spectrum, on a card that has extremely strong aesthetic appeal for the grade.
