Vibrant 7" x 9" photograph depicting George Herman Ruth on the set of the 1942 motion picture, "Pride of the Yankees." Ruth is pictured shaking hands with Hollywood star, Gary Cooper who is dressed in full Yankees regalia. Cooper received an Oscar nomination for his depiction of Lou Gehrig in the acclaimed film that served as an homage to the life of Gehrig who tragically passed away a year before the premier. Photo exhibits gentle creasing in the corners with slightly rounded edges but remains a highly attractive depiction of the pair. Verso is bright with a handwritten "1" in the upper-right corner and a Bud Perkins credit stamp above another, circular credit stamp below. A wonderful shot of two superstars captured during filming of one of the greatest sports movies ever made. This photo is fresh to the hobby and hails from the personal collection of long time Baltimore-area broadcaster Ted Patterson. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
