Pair of seldom-seen team postcards featuring the Chicago Cubs and White Sox teams of 1906. Both cards were found in a collection of postcards owned by former pitcher Barney Pelty, and both were mailed to Pelty's home in Missouri in October of 1906. Though the sender of the postcards is unknown, he took time to identify the winners and losers of the 1906 crosstown World Series, with an additional note on the White Sox card, reading "I took your advice. Found Woodward."
The Cubs postcard features Hall of Famers Frank Chance, Johnny Evers and Joe Tinker, and has been graded PR 1 by SGC with significant wear throughout. The White Sox card features Hall of Famers Charles Comieksy, Ed Walsh and George Davis, and has been graded AUTHENTIC, due to the postcard not meeting the minimum size requirement according to SGC. Still, two tough postcards featuring excellent teams, including the 1906 champion White Sox.
