College Football Hall of Fame coach, Tad Jones appears in this 4.5" x 5.75" news service photograph from shortly after the turn of the 20th century. Though mostly associated with football, a youthful Jones is depicted wearing a uniform synonymous with Yale baseball for whom Jones served as team captain during his senior year of 1907. Jones quarterbacked the Yale football team for three season from 1905-07 and was named an All American in both his junior and senior years. Photo maintains sharp image quality despite light fading common to photographic prints of this era. Texturing of paper on verso suggests photo may have been removed from a mount and pencil notations appear that read "Tad Jones Capt. Yale BB Team." Guaranteed Type 1.
