A popular player in Detroit, Charley Maxwell started his major league career in Boston but as a natural left fielder, he was stymied by Ted Williams and thus was dealt following the 1954 season to the Orioles, who sold his contract to the Tigers early in the 1955 season. The centering here is extreme to the bottom-right, with corner rounding evident on this 1952 Topps card; a child has written on the back as well. PSA/DNA has deemed his signature in blue as AUTHENTIC.
