Future soap opera star Johnny Bernardino was an actor from an early age, appearing in some Our Gang shorts as a youngster and was appearing in movies by 1947. Never a star in baseball, he did win a ring with the 1948 Indians before going into acting full time. 1952 was his last year playing ball. Still with Cleveland before being shipped off to the Pirates late in the season, the 1952 Topps card seen here in the semi-high series caught a crease in the upper left and has come through nicely otherwise. The black ink signature is deemed AUTHENTIC by PSA/DNA and is a nice one.
