The high number Topps series in many years was reserved primarily for rookies and bench players, with a handful of stars sprinkled in.  1959 was no exception, although Topps sweetened the pot with All Star cards at the very end of the series. Hall-of-Famer Bob Gibson got the rookie card treatment in '59, with the curious choice of a pink background color.  This example has sharp corners and and rich color throughout but is centered to the left, reducing the technical grade.  The reverse is superb, with the nice, creamy card stock Topps used for the highs adding a richness to the image.
