His rookie card is generally considered to be his Canadian World Wide Gum issue from 1936 but the 1938 Goudey "Heads Up" set contains what is essentially Joe DiMaggio's U.S. card debut. The variety offered here is from the reissued second series of the set and features the desirable small cartoons that were added at that time. Holdered as a PSA 2.5, the card exhibits a small bit of paper loss in the upper right just below the corner that drives the grade but doesn't have a whole lot of negatives otherwise. DiMaggio's tinted image is bright and the card has aged well, with the typical toning associated with Goudey's cardboard stock present. The reverse has some light foxing in two or three areas but nothing that is too displeasing or distracting. Exceptional card for the grade, from an original owner collection, submitted by Love of the Game to PSA.
