One of two cards considered to be Jackie Robinson's rookie card (the other is his 1949 Bowman of course), and certainly the most popular of the two, his appearance in Leaf's quirky 1949 set was downright historic. Despite the flip, which picks up a 1948 copyright on some cards, the set was clearly issued in 1949. This PSA 1.5 holders a card that has seen what appears to be staining from clear tape at the corners, with centering to the right side. Despite some surface soiling and overall wear, the central image still looks good and has excellent registration, which is never a given with the Leaf cards. The reverse has fared better and is centered well, with bold text and looks quite clean. This is a key and noteworthy card from the postwar era in any condition.
