Enormously attractive 1934 World Wide Gum card of Babe Ruth identical in appearance to the 1933 Goudey #53 Babe Ruth save for the reverse printed in French and English and making reference to World Wide Gum Company (as opposed to Goudey Gum Company). The World Wide Gum cards are generally more scarce than their Goudey counterparts while selling for a lower price an anomaly that makes no sense to us. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA this example is well-centered for the issue very slightly off from top to bottom. Corner wear is consistent with the grade and the rest of the card is clean. An outstanding image of the hobby's most popular and enduring player who also happens to be one of the hottest commodities in collecting at this time.
