I have one to sell!
Exceptionally rare cabinet photo of the Dodgers Hall of Fame outfielder and fan favorite. Issued in 1911 by the Jones Keyser & Arras photo studio these rare and highly sought after. Part of what is thought to be a 50-card set (not all 50 have been discovered) the 4 1/4" x 7 1/4" cabinets feature sturdy grey cardboard mounts onto which a sharp black and white photo has been attached. These cabinet photos are extraordinarily rare. While we fully recognize that a large number of prewar collectors prefer to keep their collections ungraded we also recognize grading company population reports to be an excellent gauge or rarity. As of this writing only 25 examples of Jones Keyser & Arras cabinets have been graded in total. Very few subjects have more than one graded example known. This is an exceptional card with a tremendous action photo of Zack Wheat finishing his swing. While the card itself has been graded FAIR 20 by SGC the technical grade refers primarily to wear on the mount including a chip at the left corner overall rounding and edge chipping and a small pencil mark on the reverse. The quality of the photo affixed to the mount however is marvelous in EX-MT condition with very little wear at all. In this case the mount certainly did its job which was to protect the photo. And it is indeed an exceptional photo. In researching this particular card due to its distinctive corner chip we were able to ascertain that this is the only example of a Jones Keyser & Arras Zack Wheat to change hands in recent memory selling as part of a large lot of JKA cabinets at public auction four years ago. While this particular cabinet has been posted in various places on the internet it is the only example of a Jones Keyser & Arras Zack Wheat that we have been able to document online. While it is unlikely that this card is unique there is no question that it is a remarkably rare and significant card. A striking image of a popular Hall of Famer from an extraordinarily rare set possibly the only JKA Zack Wheat that collectors will see in the foreseeable future one of the most interesting and significant cards in this entire auction.
