This is an unbelievable baseball originating from the estate of Brooklyn Dodgers Hall of Fame outfielder Zack Wheat. The ball is simply spectacular a Reach Joe Cronin official American League ball used between 1970 and 1972 according to "History of the Base Ball " by Brandon Grunbaum. Wheat passed away in early 1972 meaning this ball was likely signed near the very end of his life. The ball authenticated by JSA was likely signed at a Hall of Fame induction or some other event featuring various baseball dignitaries. The baseball has been signed in a variety of inks by 33 players including many Hall of Famers and has been carefully stored so that the signatures are remarkably well-preserved. Signatures include the following: SWEET SPOT: Ted Williams (HOF) Don Drysdale (HOF) Ford Frick. EAST PANEL: Bill Dickey (HOF) Bowie Kuhn Edd Roush (HOF) Rube Marquard (HOF) Lefty Grove (HOF) Joe Cronin (HOF) and Bob Feller (HOF). WEST PANEL: Hank Aaron (HOF) Fred Lieb Warren Spahn (HOF) Stan Musial (HOF) and Pie Traynor (HOF). NORTH PANEL: Warren Giles (HOF) Earle Combs (HOF) Max Carey (HOF) Harry Hooper (HOF) Stan Coveleski (HOF) Bill Terry (HOF) Lloyd Waner (HOF) Bob Feller (HOF) Enos Slaughter (HOF). STAMPED PANEL: Fred Lieb (second time) Al Kaline (HOF) Lou Burdette. SOUTH PANEL: Luke Appling (HOF) Rocky Colavito Bob Lemon (HOF) Satchel Paige (HOF) Zack Wheat (HOF) and Yogi Berra (HOF). This is a spectacular baseball signed by a host of key Hall of Famers including several dead ball era players. In outstanding condition this multi-signed ball features the signatures of many of the greatest players ever originating from the estate of one of its signatories. Full LOA from JSA.
