Among a small stack of postcards consigned by the family of former St. Louis Browns pitcher Barney Pelty, these six real photo postcards all picture the "Yiddish Curver" taking warmup pitches, the images inset into plain white postcards. Five of the six (the five encapsulated by SGC) originate from the Bell & Palfrey studio and include their blind stamping. For a reason unbeknownst to us, SGC declined to grade the sixth card, likely due to some concerns about whether the subject was actually Pelty. Of course we all know that the card was consigned by Pelty's family. Though none of the cards have been postally used, each exhibits signs of wear simply a result of storage. Likely produced for the purposes of responding to fan mail and autograph requests, an attractive grouping of real photo postcards, each featuring posed images of Barney Pelty. Six cards total.
