This ticket stub is one of a complete run of stubs from every New York Yankees/Brooklyn Dodgers World Series game being offered in this auction.  We invite you to view our printed catalog or visit our e-book catalog online at https://online.flippingbook.com/view/961320424/ to read an excellent article on the crosstown rivalry written by SABR president Mark Armour.

Heading back to Yankee Stadium for Game 6 with the momentum on their side, the Yankees struck twice in the first off Carl Erskine, and again in the second on a Gene Woodling sac fly.  The Dodgers added one in the 6th and headed into the top of the 9th desperate for runs.  The Dodgers rallied, scoring two off Allie Reynolds, pitching in relief of Whitey Ford, to tie the game heading into the Yankees half of the ninth.  Hank Bauer led off with a walk against Clem Labine, and with one out, Mickey Mantle hit an infield single that moved Bauer to second.  With that, second baseman Billy Martin continued his World Series heroics by bouncing a single between short and third to score Bauer, and end the World Series.

Attractive stub from the deciding game grades roughly VG, with some light wrinkling near the center of the ticket, and pronounced wear at the perforated edges.  Some light sports of paper loss on the reverse suggest the stub was mounted in a scrapbook at some point.
