A kissing cousin to the E135 Collins-McCarthy cards, Boston Store cards are identified as H801-8 in the American Card Catalog. While the card is quite obviously trimmed, the fact that the subject is Black Sox co-conspirator Buck Weaver, whose infamy has done nothing to hurt the collectability of his cards, is intriguing. The image has some heavy creasing and the cut is, of course, amateurish but no matter. SGC has graded five Boston Store Weaver's in total, with only three higher. The story over at SGC is forlorn-only a single example has bene slabbed by them. The condition here is tough but the specific combination of card and issuer is even tougher and Weaver is well sought after by collectors.
