Gehrig Salutations are somewhat scarcer than other subjects in the series, no doubt due to his retirement in 1939, when this style of Exhibits kicked off. Just 36 have been graded by PSA, which if compared to his teammate Joe DiMaggio's 321, really details how few Gehrig's were produced. The PSA1 (MK) grade is all due to the reverse, as the front is very, very nice, with just some minor edge and corner wear evident.

The reverse is a snapshot in time and the career totals compiled by the youngster who originally owned this card indicate it was marked up before the 1939 season was underway, with lifetime stats through 1938. It's hard not to wonder how poignant a moment it must have been when the burgeoning statistician learned of Gehrig's fate. An exceptionally scarce and highly sought-after card, which happens to also be the last card issued of Gehrig during his playing days.
