One of the more colorful 1952 Berk-Ross cards, which often featured muted greens and yellows, Ted Williams is one of the four or five most collected cards in the set, no doubt helped by neither Topps or Bowman having secured his rights for the season.
This is one nice looking PSA 3, with a combination of small things conspiring to pull the grade down. The image is bright and clear and the colors startlingly fresh on this example. Williams was about to be whisked off to Korea courtesy of Uncle Sam for a second tour of military duty that he was famously unhappy about. It's a safe bet he hadn't received the news when this almost mirthful shot was taken.
