Captured during filming of the 1927 film Babe Comes Home, Babe Ruth chuckles alongside a teammate in this 8” x 10” original press photograph. Interestingly, Babe Comes Home is now considered a “lost” film with no known copies in existence today, though press photos, posters and other ephemera from the production have survived. Photo remains in wonderful overall condition with only very minor wear to the corners. Verso exhibits three different Brown Brothers stamps, with a paper caption afixed along the top edge. A date stamp of July 22, 1927 is also present – just two months after the film’s initial release. Encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
