Issued by the daily newspaper of the same name, the Boston American postcard series were produced to celebrate the World Champion Red Sox of that season.  The cards were issued in two sets, featuring only members of the Red Sox.  The card of Hall of Famer Tris Speaker is the key to the issue.  Graded FAIR 1.5 by SGC, the card exhibits heavy wear at the edges, mostly in the form of soiling but also some honest corner rounding and overall edge softening.  Writing on the reverse (French) fills the back of the card, though it has not been postally used.  An excellent example of a key card from this tough regional postcard issue.
