Lew Alcindor was a New York prep school legend, then went on to UCLA where he embellished the legend legend and then to the NBA, where he, you guessed it, became an all-time legend. Pursued by the New York Nets with the No. 1 pick in the ABA draft, the Harlem Globetrotters made a run at him too but he was drafted by and signed with the Milwaukee Bucks as the biggest no brainer No. 1 pick in NBA history, still holding several major NBA career records. Alcindor was also a centerpiece of the first Topps Basketball set in 12 years and the oversized cards were perfect for the 7'2" center. This is a PSA 4 with some corner wear and a small surface pressure crease being the most evident downgrades; it's a fabulous example for the grade of an immensely popular rookie card.
