The updates were designed to inform clubs of personnel changes contracts and other transactions. The three updates on Commissioner's Office letterhead are as follows: 1) March 31 1947: Transactions include Brooklyn signing of Carl Furillo Pee Wee Reese and Arky Vaughan Pittsburgh's signing of Hank Greenberg and Preacher Roe as player a large number of St. Louis signings including Harry Breechen Murry Dickson Dick Sisler Enos Slaughter Stan Musial Howie Pollet and Red Schoendienst as well as a number of players receiving their release. This two-page legal-sized document is folded in half torn at the upper-left corner and exhibiting various minor tears along the edges. AL transactions appear to be missing. 2) March 23 1948: National League transactions include Brooklyn signings of Cal Abrams Frenchy Bordagaray Ralph Branca Billy Cox Carl Furillo Al Gionfriddo Gene Hermanski Gil Hodges Clyde King Gene Mauch Eddie Miksis Erv Palica Pee Wee Reese Jackie Robinson Preacher Roe Duke Snider and Eddie Stanky; Cincinnati signings include Ted Kluszewski and Johnny Vandermeer; New York signings include Bobby Thomson; Philadelphia signings include Dutch Leonard and Andy Seminick; St. Louis signings include Harry Breechen Murry Dickson Joe Garagiola Marty Marion Stan Musial Howie Pollet Red Schoendienst Dick Sisler; and documents several trades including the Brooklyn trade of Eddie Stanky to Boston. American League signings include Cleveland signing of Bob Feller Jim Hegan Bob Lemon Ray Murray; New York signing of Gerry Coleman Johnny Lindell Allie Reynolds Yogi Berra Frank Crosetti; Philadelphia signings include Ferris Fain Rudy York Joe Astroth Eddie Joost Elmer Valo; as well as several other trades and player releases.
