A very impressive and regal-looking issue the T204 Ramly Cigarettes cards of 1909 feature a beautiful black-and-white portrait of each player encircled in an ornate gold leaf border with the player name position and team affiliation printed at the bottom. The cards are extremely condition-sensitive both because they are printed on flimsy paper and because the gold borders are very susceptible to chipping as is the case with most gold-bordered cards. Between the outstanding player selection and the overall beauty of the issue higher-grade examples from the set are extremely pricey making affordable specimens tough to find. Presented is a collection of 19 such cards; collector-grade examples of 18 different (one duplicate) from the set. Included are Blankenship Byrnes Crandall Criger Conroy Donohue Freeman Ganley Hartzell Jones Lush (2) Merkle Paskert Sallee Sheckard Shipke Spencer and Steinfeldt. All are in POOR condition some with paper loss on the reverse. Groupings of Ramlys are rarely offered at auction; the scarcity and value of the cards typically result in few examples at auction at all. A recent large sale of T204 cards seems to have uncovered new finds of the cards to the hobby resulting in this grouping. 19 cards total.
