On September 30, 1992, Hall of Famer George Brett joined the 3,000 hit club, going 4-for-5 in a4-0 Royals victory. Brett collected the milestone hit in the 7th inning of the game, and was promptly picked off, the excitement of the hit clearly taking him out of the moment. For commemorative purposes, the Kansas City Royals saved ten game-used baseballs from the game; this is one of just a handful to make it to auction. The ball is well-worn, dirty from use, and has been inscribed in black ballpoint by Brett, with the date and "#3000." Letter of authenticity on Kansas City Royals letterhead, signed by Brett.
